EdiMC,
The odds of both speakers failing in exactly the same way are vanishingly small. Perhaps if you ran some extremely loud sound effects on both sides, maybe. But even then, it's very unlikely the damage would be identical.
yup... that's exactly why I first thought it had something to do with the receiver.
But then I connected the speakers to an integrated stereo amp which is fairly new and they behaved similarly...
I never strain the speakers too much as I live in an apartment.
Volume wise, usually I don't go past -20db (with ARC ON. If I turn ARC OFF, then I usually listen at -25/26db or even lower).

If not power, then something else upstream in your signal path. A low pass filter setting in the amp or source component? LFE engaged or not? Has to be something like that.
Charlie
Already checked EVERY setting that could be causing this... I even performed multiple hard resets to delete any possibility of a rogue setting lol it would also be a HUGE coincidence that the same thing happened when using the stereo amp...

@Dave - of that I have no doubts. GE has been highly praised for it's consumer support ;)
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the replacement amps?

Thanks

I would agree. And, at the *same* time?

That's the thing which I'm most baffled about...
Could it be that, somewhere in time, one of the amps stopped working correctly and then, in a different time frame, the other one also went bad?
I haven't had much time in the last year/year and a half to use the system (and I doubt I wouldn't detect something was "unbalanced" even when using it briefly), but I cannot rule something of that sort with absolute certainty...
HOWEVER, even if that was the case, what are the chances of getting the exact same reproduction issue?? I mean, the low frequency readings have the exact same pattern! And the sub section is working EXACTLY the same on both speakers (weak bass output)... I'm quite intrigued about all of this I can tell you.......

@EdiMC

I suppose anything is possible. Question is how probable. I honestly have no further ideas as to how to troubleshoot/resolve your problem. Perhaps your dealer or GE support can be of more assistance.

Best.

Hal

Very, VERY, improbable I would say...

Yes, already requested the dealer's help (why do I feel I'm referring to ilicit substances?! Lol)
On Tuesday I should hear from him... Keeping my fingers crossed!
