Loving the T Refs! I'd say that are a magical mix of revealing without being analytical (although I'm using tubes so that might remove the analytical). Music is lush, moving, compelling.

Yes, usually major movements in a classical symphony or concerto are completely separate, although there are some where the play is continuous between the movements. One example is Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto 3, the transition between second and third movement is continuous. I'll give you another example. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring has long passages of continuous music, but in the CDs I own, there are different tracks that correspond to different parts of the story line. The orchestra doesn't stop playing through these. This is where pauses between gaps are incredibly annoying.

I agree totally about the TRefs. Lush describes them very well, and I'm hearing that on Class D monoblocks.

Oh man, guys, you are killing me here!!!! Lush is one of my favorite words to describe music, and I kinda expected it from Pbgalvin with the Butlers, but from you Charlie with the Bel Cantos, that is terrific BOTH of you!!!!
Anybody else hearing LUSH??
I am NOT asking if anybody IS a LUSH!!!
Wish I could hear what you are hearing. Though I am experiencing some lushness my self with my Ones.
Let you get back at it,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey Wayne,
Sorry to be tormenting you man! If you are ever in the Boston / Providence area stop by :-).

Don't worry to much, I still have T1s for my 2 channel and I'm still loving them. Listening to Hudson on them right now actually.
I wouldn't call them lean compared to the T Refs lush. Maybe I'd characterize them as something between lean and lush, whatever that word is? Satisfying? Balanced?
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20

Thanks for the invitation, just might take you up on that, but it is not an area I get to often, but beautiful!!!!!
Enjoy some good seafood and football for me there!!!!
Yeah, the Ones are not Lush, in and of themselves, but I find that some well recorded DSD or FLAC 24/192 music with a bit of tubes in the production line, and they get close to LUSH. Oh, I also had to put some lush sounding MIT ICs and speaker cables in line too.
I am loving the sound!!!!! Coz, LUSH can sometimes be too sweet and can smudge over some details and sparkle, I need those details and sparkle!!!! Just perfect if you axe me.
God Bless,
Wayne

This is my personal experience with the GE Triton Reference speakers. They now have a couple of hundred hours on them. These are my impressions from todays listening session which lasted most of the afternoon. Finally.....Today I listened for 4 hours. I let the system warm up for about a half hour, then sat down to enjoy. The equipment I played today was the CJ MF2550 amp, Rogue RP-5 tube pre, Esoteric X-3 SACD Player and the GE Triton Reference speakers. All power cords and conditioning courtesy of Shunyata and I use a full loom of Groneberg Quattro Reference cables. I also have 2 dedicated lines, a 20 amp for equipment and a 15 amp for speakers.

Started off with DSOTM by Pink Floyd. I cranked up the heartbeat, it was unbelievable. My Odyssey amp ran out of gas on this song with the same speakers previously. When "On The Run" came on it was amazing, no staggering is a better word. The dynamic range had to be heard to believe. The soundstage went way beyond the speakers, it was like a wall of sound. The rest of the disk was equally amazing.

Next up was a SHM SACD of Paranoid by Black Sabbath. This disk never sounded good on any of my previous systems and I thought I wasted 50 bucks on it. Not so, it sounded deep and authorative. Ozzy’s voice was perfect and it was very easy to hear the different bass lines. With the Conrad Johnson amp driving the Triton References, all the upper midrange hardness disappeared and everything sounded just like music.

Next up was an old favorite, The Who Live At leeds (deluxe set). I listened to track 13, "The Magic Bus". John Entwistle really nailed the bass, it was truly something and Keith Moon was really smashing away on the drums, I was in Heaven.

Lastly, I listened to the CD "Letters Never Sent" by Carly Simon. Her voice was that of an angel, her vocals hung in the air in front of me, it was spooky. There was absolutely no strain to Carly’s voice and the CJ amp never even came close to running out of steam.

That’s it, so far. All positives, no negatives or what if’s. More to come.
Technics SL1200G TT with ZU DL103,, McIntosh c2500 all tube Preamp, Sony HAP-Z1ES Music Server, Esoteric UX-3 CD/SACD Player, McIntosh MR88 FM HD Tuner, McIntosh MC302 300wpc amp, GE Triton Reference Speakers, Shunyata Hydra's Power Conditioners & Power Cords, + more.

stereo5, Congratulations! Your descriptions match my impressions very well. I have maybe 120 hours on my TRefs and around 80 hours on my Bel Canto amps. The system produces an amazing combination of detail and buttery smoothness. Wonderful to listen to, but I'm beginning to get worried about the state of my health when I find myself sitting for hours at a time just listening!

The other day I listened to a Telarc recording of Richard Strauss's Eine Alpensinfonie with Andre Previn and the Vienna Philharmonic. This is a very dense orchestral piece with a large orchestra. The TRefs allowed me to hear and point to almost every instrument in the orchestra. All the complex musical lines were clear and easy to discriminate. It was fun and easy to listen to, and the brass climaxes were hair raising. Fabulous.

I'm glad to hear your TRefs are giving you the same thrill ride I'm experiencing.

Charlie
