Hi Fopmc,

I agree with Christo regarding using Y adapters to split the Sub Output from your Receiver to provide inputs to the sub input connectors on a pair of Tritons. The output impedance is certainly high enough to support one "Y" splitter. You may be able to split the signal again, using a second "Y" adapter to drive a second set of Tritons, depending upon the amount of loading presented to the Amp Sub Out by having 4 speakers connected. You won't hurt anything by trying it out and you'll be able to tell if the loading is a problem by what you hear when connecting that second "Y" as compared to just having one "Y" adapter connected.

Regarding your earlier question about effects upon Audyssey measurements, I cannot advise you because I have never used the Audyssey options to set up any of my AV configurations.

Have fun.

fopmc,

Our Moderator has recommended the y-splitters, so I'm sure that's all you would need. GET has set up 4 powered towers at trade shows to great affect. Maybe the Moderator can clarify if this is how they set their speakers up...

Cheers,

Yes, we used a "Y" splitter from each of the two sub-outs on the processor to each of the four Triton towers (Ones in the front, Twos as Surrounds).

Having two sub-outs is probably important, if you are going to connect two "Y" splitters in order to drive 4 Tritons. You might find that trying to drive 4 Tritons from one sub-out (which would require double-splitting) will lower the impedance enough to degrade the signal present at all 4 speakers. If your AV Receiver or other processor has only one sub-out, then you can cascade a second AV Receiver or other processor in order to obtain a second sub-out.

Again thanks for the helpful and friendly advice.

Now while I have read setting the Tritons to Large is to allow for the full range....I'll play devils advocate here....
but shouldn't it make more sense to set it to "small" since you now have engaged the LFE terminal on the same speaker?
While I understand it should be set to Large if no LFE is engaged to have the full range of the speakers... I am trying to better understand the idea/logic behind it!

An interesting question. First, regarding splitting sub signals..... Since I have two sub outs on my Onkyo AV Receiver, I just finished hooking up sub 2 out to my Triton 1 Right speaker, while leaving sub 1 out connected t my Triton 1 Left speaker. It may be my imagination, but I think bass performance is improved without the splitter in play. Not enough to discourage you from splitting 2-1 if that's your only option, but 1-1 might be better.
