Set up my new T1s this weekend. Moved my T2s to the surrounds. Running both pairs as Full/Large configuration along with sub/lfe connected to my receiver. SuperCenter XL in the center.

The sound is so rich, textured, and 3 dimensional it can bring tears of joy to your eyes. I sort of expected the expert review raves would prove to be a bit of an exaggeration. But the T1s are the real deal. No kidding.

I wrestled for many months thinking that the T2s are so good, can the T1s really be worth the upgrade. I mean the T2s are really really really good. The T1s, as it turns out, are mind bending good. Yes, that much better than the wondrous T2s. Not just because there's even more bottom end reach and tightened up mid bass. But there is an effortless depth and dimensionality that defies words.

And the combo of T1s in front and T2s on the sides is by far the best movie experience I've ever had. No theater I've ever attended has sounded so refined and immersive. Incredible. Four subs, no waiting. Seamless. Easier to dial in 4 Triton subs than the 2 T2 subs with my Paradigm sub (And I love my Paradigm sub, but is now moved to another room).

So if anyone out there is having the same internal debate about upgrading from the T2s, I say don't hesitate.

Very interesting post. I am auditioning Triton 1s ans 2s later this week. I own a pair of Triton 7s and a Paradigm DSP 3400 Sub. If I purchase T1s or T2s, they will become my primary speakers and the 7s will be moved to the rear in my setup. The Paradigm Sub is already in the rear.

I have two AV Receivers in my setup. The primary receiver is an Onkyo NR 3009 and the secondary unit is a Denon AVR 790.

Your comments comparing the 1s to the 2s support what I expect to hear. I will be listening to orchestral and choral music during my audition because that is my primary interest rather than movie performance. When I listen to music, I listen in the Pure Direct Stereo mode, with only Fronts and Sub active.

Onkyo NR 3009 AV Receiver and Denon AVR 790 AV Receiver. Plus an older Sony STR-DE197 Stereo Receiver to provide Center Speaker only amplification and level control. The Paradigm DSP 3400 Sub is powered.

Triton 1 - R,L
SuperCenter XL - Center
Triton 2 - Surrounds
SuperSat 50C - Highs
Martin Logan Motion FX - Rear surrounds
Emotiva XPA-1 G2 monoblocks: R/L/C, XPA-1L monoblocks: surrounds, rears, and heights
Onkyo TX-NR3010 as a pre/pro

I moved my Triton 7's and Paradigm Studio Sub 12 to my bedroom (running an Anthem MRX700 there). Considered using the 7's as wides, but the T1's and T2's don't need the help as their soundstages are so beautifully wide.
