Now let's reverse that. Suppose I want to listen to the dac in the d2v through the d2v balanced analog inputs into the Oppo balanced analog outputs. Is this possible?

Sorry, don't quite follow. Oppo balanced outputs are for output only.
To get the d2v to be the dac in the chain, have the Oppo output to it over a digital connection (like HDMI or SPDIF or USB)...
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20
HT -> Marantz 7703, Butler Audio T5150 amp, GeT Ref mains

Do U listen through the 205 analog outputs, be it in RCA or Balanced, for 2-channel listening? The Oppo UDP-205 analog outputs ROCK!

Hey Anthem.
Just got my setup working such that I can compare the 205 being the DAC and sending the output analog to my Marantz 7703, vs. the Oppo sending HDMI and the Marantz being the DAC. Haven't done A/B yet but hope to in the next couple of days...

Btw listening to The Weaves - very interesting alt/pop kind of stuff from the great north of Canada.
