Yes, Bro Rick, you have an awesome, amazing system, truly world class!!!!
It is on my bucket list to some day visit and hear it!!!!
I can relate with all the movies you mentioned.
I too don't need anything to shake my sofa, it does really shake with all the bass!!!!!
I love music, and music on Blu Ray is the BEST, like the Mumford and Sons you mention, but nothing (entertainment wise) is better than a REALLY great movie in my home theater!!!!!
We are sooooo blessed!!!!!
Enjoy,
God Bless,
Wayne

Wow, this thread has cobwebs growing on it...

Just watched the Blu-ray "The Commuter", starring Liam Neeson. Maybe it's been reviewed earlier on the Blu-ray thread, not sure.

Great plot, keeps moving, Liam is the perfect hero as usual.

The soundtrack is in Atmos, and it's one of the best I've heard in that format for realism. No over use of bass, just "draw you in" scenes with trains derailing, action in general. The train scenes are very realistic, like you're ON that train, ducking at times with the action. And, yes, the bass is there, even couch shaking at times, just not overdone.

Recommended both for the plot/action AND for the soundtrack that takes you along for the whole ride.

Atmos sound mixers keep getting better and better at using the format throughout the movie without just showing off the format now and then IMHO...

So, what are folks experiencing in Atmos that you'd like to share????

Happy listening and watching!

Rick, I really enjoyed "Commuter" even in 7.1 or 7.5 in my case.
But,
Tonight we had folks over for Thanksgiving dinner, and afterwards a few of us watched "Hacksaw Ridge".
It is in ATMOS, there was a sound check for it, but since my theater is not atmos, I only got 7.5. Still, WOW oh WOW!!!!!
It is THE demo disc to use for my theater, the sounds were located perfectly and scarily, sound and picture just blew everyone's socks off.
MERCY!!!!!!
GREAT movie.
Highly Recommended in every way. And a TRUE story of a REAL HERO, cannot commend him enough.
God Bless,
Wayne

Wow, over a year with no new posts.

Just finished playing the recently released Blu-ray of Midway, which we saw in the theater back around Oct/Nov last year.

I was impressed with how well the sound mix was done, and the story about a pivotal WWII battle, plus the so realistic CGI aided scenes that I wanted a copy to play on th GEt HT system. Wow. The Atmos track is the best I've heard yet, totally enveloping. And the bass!!! Definitely in Dunkirk and Pacific Rim class.

This is a demo quality keeper!!!! Your GEt Atmos speakers will knock this out of the park. SO realistic, pulls you into the story.
