Did someone mention saxes?
Guess what's spinning this morning.

Joshua Redman Elastic Band - Momentum (2005 Nonesuch Records)

Noteworthy tracks include Sweet Nasty & Greasy G to name a few. Splendid session from a talented artist.

Wayne, my Asian Brother. You're a character. Cover your ears today. Saxes are blowing hot & heavy in Kansas. :P
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Dear Brother Anthem,
You just need to close your eyes, click your heels together 3 times, and.......no, no, hold on, that is to get back to Kansas. You are already there.
I honestly did not know there was that much sax music in the world. (If you discount Kenny G, which I do).
But I am glad you and others enjoy it so much. I mean, it has its place. And I am personally glad that place is your house. Ha ha,
Sorry, I am being too hard on you. [Dark Side of the Moon, best sax I ever had!!!] We enjoy different kinds of music. GREAT.
Did you ever get a handle on that first ten mins of harshness problem?
Let us know.
Have a great day, God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Wayne,

Thanks for the welcome to me! I hope to be a useful contributor.

As far as growing up, yes, like many of us I still have a lot of growing up to do. It's a process and if I'm lucky I'll never get all the way there. Let's put it this way, my body is way ahead of my mind & spirit as far as growing up, errr... old!

WayneWilmeth wrote: Hi Dave, it is wonderful to have you join in!!!!!
It is especially good because we get to hear from another member of the GoldenEar Team that you guys love music too.
You are right, it is all about the music (though the gear to produce great music is fun too).
Your point of view will certainly be welcome.
We all come from different places and for sure have different tastes in music.
I am glad you can help Anthem get more SAX!!!!!
I noticed that you talked about your musical influences "growing up". You did not mention anything about now that you are grown up, so I am assuming that you might be like me, and have not grown up yet!!!!
Thanks for joining in, all the best,
Wayne

Wayne: A Kansas joke? Not to worry I joke about Kansas myself. In regards to saxophones, I believe one day you'll come to your senses and learn to love and appreciate the sax...don't fight it.

If it weren't for you I believe this forum would be dead. I appreciate your participation and contributions. I actually look forward to your posts.

Now the issue with my "harshness". It's getting better. This morning Joshua Redman sounded wonderful, couldn't find fault with anything. I have narrowed it down to 3 things it might be.
1. Speaker cable not broken in
2. My Cambridge Audio-azur 840C upsamples data
3. Poorly recorded cd's
I'm leaning towards 1 & 3.

I haven't heard a sax in 10 hours, starting to have withdrawal pains...blessings.

Anthem, you need to go "Way Out West" ... with Sonny Rollins, that is!
