Anthem,

I like 'Sapphire Blue' a lot, too. Another one of those albums that gets dismissed by some but shouldn't.

I don't have 'The Three Kings' but listening to the samples got it on to my wish list.

I'll put Golub's new album on my short list. I have 5 of his recordings.

Sapphire Blue is my favorite Larry Carlton recording.

Currently listening to:

Jeff Lorber - Flipside (2005 Narada)

Played it twice today...one more play & I'll move on. Good album.

Wayne:
This is the original Beatles soundtrack that has been cleaned up and a few "extra" sounds added to it to make the music come alive! Listening to the music on the Goldenears is three dimensional and is truly a thing of beauty. My wife walked in while I was listening last night and told me that this was the best Beatles music she had ever heard.
Highly recommended.

Thanks for the Larry Carlton suggestion. I am now listening to Larry Carlton and Robben Ford Unplugged. To die for!

Currently: Freddy Jones Band, acoustic show live at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA, Sept 25, 2010.
Just before that was David Wilcox' 'Big Horizon' album.

Re: Jeff Lorber's Flipside album...

I'll have to listen to this one, as I've liked a lot of his stuff. I'm still trying to find a reasonably priced CD of his 'Galaxian' album.

Anyone remember the John Payne / Louis Levin Band? I think they only made one album but it's pretty great '70s jazz/funk, in a somewhat similar vein to Jeff Lorber.
