Jeff Golub / Dangerous Curves (2000) -- Mister Magic.

I told the wife that most of the musicians I've been listening to lately are either dead or have one foot in the grave, Golub passed about a year ago.

Great music and great sound.

I've got a hybrid SACD version of this album on my wish list. Streaming the album over Amazon Prime even sounds good with this one. I'm looking forward to having the disk. I haven't heard a bad song on this album.

I'm not quite sure where to classify this album. Bebop, smooth, blues? It sounds a bit like each. One thing I do know is that it is a great album. I'm going to have to look for more from Kenny Burrell.

Herb Alpert / Come Fly with Me (2015) -- On the Sunnyside of the Street

T Cobe: Kenny Burrell is known for his Bebop, hard bop, Soul jazz, Cool jazz, and Blues. You've pretty much nailed it with Blues intertwined with Bebop.
Sounds like some pretty Good Stuff.

Thanks, Anthem. Sounds like a blues guitar with Jazz accompaniment. Overall, the result is quite nice but I enjoy both genres. Supposedly the SQ of the SACD is the way to go.

Glad I can contribute once in a while. ;) If the SQ is as good as it is on The Best of Blue Note, it will sound great in your setup! I really need to think about tubes... That will have to be a down the road investment.

I've ordered the hybrid disk along with a few others! Hopefully they will be here in time for the weekend. I've been craving more music lately. Probably due impart to the limited availability of new and interesting movie titles.

Have you ever tried AntiCables' speaker cables? I think I'm going to order a level 3 power cord next week and I'm considering a set of speaker cables as well. The technology seems solid and the color will match my Nordost cables even if it's not the same brand.
