Cannonball Adderley / Somethin Else (1958) -- One For Daddy-o

In mass market form, this cd is oh so lacking in the "well recorded" Arena .

But hey...good is good!

Finally, a day off! Listening to Ray Charles: Genius Loves Company this morning. One of the bonus tracks on the album version I have is Ray Charles all by his lonesome singing Mary Ann.

I have about 2/3 of my room treatments in place now including bass traps on the front and side walls by my T1s and yesterday, my first set of corner bass traps arrived. The addition of the corner treatments has created a big improvement in focus. Almost like taking a picture and tweeting the focus adjust to get the image perfectly sharp. There is more texture and presence to the voices and each instrument stands a little more clearly. Audiophile use of a traditionally visual term seems odd but I see now how it fits.

Off to check my mid bass suck out. Hopefully this has been diminished with the room treatments. If not, I fear I'm going to have to address the ceiling and floor as well(even above what I've already done).

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thank YOU, Anthem!

"Currently playing", "What Blu-ray did you watch last night". These are YOUR babies, YOUR threads! You have (tilted?) me more towards new music styles (to me) than anyone. I will be forever grateful for all the music you show from your seemingly inexhaustible library for me to sample.

Keep it up! You are a staple. I can't imagine this forum without you.
