Something that arrived a few days ago.

Joe Magnarelli / Persistence (2008) -- I had the Craziest Dream

There are several indispensable qualities an artist must have if he or she is to survive as a jazz musician. Tone. Technique. Ears. Resourcefulness. Adaptability. Good communication skills. Patience. Confidence. Individuality. Taste. Drive. Soul. But perhaps the most important quality a great musician or any other artist really must have is persistence. Lots of it.

Overall, a very good set of hard bop tunes. The recording itself was a bit ragged in spots, but still enjoyable.

Joe Magnarelli / Persistence (2008) -- Haunted Heart.

Strangest thing...Rowland Miller and I are listening to the same exact recording... deja vu. I must say, the guy has extremely wonderful taste in music...I wonder if he enjoys Joshua Redman too? ;)

I bet Rowland loves Joshua Redman and also has a fantastic music collection! Let's call it a hunch. ;)

I wonder what he'll play next.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Saturday morning, listening to Blue Avenue featuring Jeff Golub -- (oh no) no mo yo

Great music right before work. Also enjoying a great cup of coffee.
Lavazza Kilimanjaro - from Tanzania's Kilimanjaro tropical forest. The beans are washed and dried under the warm African sun ...crisp, fruity and full bodied.

Monday afternoon, listening to Joshua Redman / Beyond (2000) -- Belonging (Lopsided Lullaby)

Nice song...the last minute and half are pure Redman doing his Thang
