anthem wrote: Who's the Dude holding the Saxophone? ...Joshua Redman, of course. Which album of his would I recommend for someone that has never listened to his music? Probably Moodswing (1994). Lots of great stuff on that one. Everyone likes his album "Wish"...I borrowed it from a friend, and played it 3 times, I just couldn't get into it. Pat Matheny played guitar, which ruined the whole mood...I don't like Pat Matheny. Elastic and his self entitled Joshua Redman are quite good.

Thanks, Anthem. I've added Moodswing and Beyond. The demos on Amazon sound great in addition to all the songs you've shared with us. He's a bit of a mix between smooth jazz and classic jazz from what I can tell. Make sense? Thanks again!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi Girls,
Just happened to catch a iConcerts showing of Ben Howard "Live at the Casino de Paris".
Holy Moly, this is the real deal!!!!
Amazon has a CD and LP but does not have this concert.
HIGHLY recommended guys, his guitar style is one minute normal, the next he has his right hand (he is left handed) over the neck
and he is plucking/hammering the strings in percussion style, WOW!!!! He is a really fine guitarist. And everyone with him in the concert is right on. This girl is playing and singing with the group, on the guitar one song, cello the next, drums the next. WOW!
Never heard anybody quite like him. WANT to hear MORE!!!
Edit, just saw the drummer has a bass on his lap, plucking it too!!!! I want this concert!!!!
Ben Howard folks!
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Anthem,

My tastes are all over the board and I don't post a lot of what I listen to. I try to share what I think others will enjoy. Glad I can cost you some money for a change with this one! I think you'll really like the album.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thanks, Wayne! I added an album to my Prime Music collection today and listened to about half of Every Kingdom. It was definitely good stuff. I'll listen to a little more tomorrow before I'll decide on adding any discs to my wish list.

Cheers,
