Brad,

I couldn't agree more, well said! No matter how many times I try to run Audessey, it just ends up detracting if turned on. My XSP-1 with my XPA-1Ls have my T1s singing some pretty sweet sounds. I'm sure the XMC-1 in direct mode is very similar.

Cheers,

T Cobe

WOW Brad, that is quite the statement for the Triton Ones!!!!!
Can I ask, to clarify, you are using DIRAC Live, and Not DIRAC FULL? I think you might find the Full is some better.
And you are not using REFERENCE DIRECT????
Are you using the Direct mode because you use bass management?
Sorry for all the questions, but obviously I want to learn from you.
I only have the T 2s but I figure your findings may very well apply to me too. Unless my room affects the sound quality more than yours
does.
The DIRAC FULL is thousands of miles ahead of Audyssey to me.

Yes, Windham Hill does very close micked recordings that do sound like the player is in your room, maybe even your head is inside the instrument!!!!!
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving,
God Bless,
Wayne

Dirac full. But the app / download crashes so much from both my macbok and.my.iMac that it is an exercise in frustration, so I haven't done very many customized.filters. what I have tried though eats bars and muddies out nuance. It does improve upper.mid bass a bit, but not.worth the the trade IMHO. I tried seting.the bass rolloff to 12db/octave instead of.the defaul 24. That helped.

Re direct.vs reference, tough call. I like refernce for.just music, but direct gives me speaker distance correction which is beter for multi channel.

Yes, thanks Brad, Reference for 2 channel and Direct for Multi channel.
Makes sense.
I have to listen more. What I did confirm is the vast improvement of DIRAC over Audyssey. But I have not spent much time comparing whether I need room correction or NOT, which is what you are saying, it seems.
Thanks for the heads up, and enjoy your system, your music,
God Bless,
Wayne

Listening to a Great acoustical band this afternoon. Acoustic Alchemy / Arcanum (1996) - Same Road Same Reason.

Rick -- Have you heard of these guys, they've been around for years. IMHO they are the Topps when it comes to Acoustic Jazz. Give them a spin/stream, I'll bet your Tritons will eat this up.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Thanks, Anthem!

I just searched the group on Deezer Elite, and there they are, with a whole bunch of albums. I just downloaded one of their albums. Yes, I love acoustic guitar (maybe as much as you love sax???). I love the nuance, the sound of the strings being plucked... I love Deezer Elite. I can search most anything recommended on this forum, and play it in seconds..

Thanks again. Keep feeding us this stuff!!!

Rick
