This thread might be forgotten at this point but I''m just another guy who likes coffee. When I was on my honeymoon in Italy in 1993 I discovered how much better a good shot of espresso could taste compared to my usual cup of joe. I came home and quickly found an affordable cappuccino machine which got me thru the next several years. Then I moved on to an Alessi stove top espresso maker that lasted another decade or more. All the while I was getting my beans from small local coffee shops which roasted their own beans. I was contempt for a while but I felt as though I never quite produced the same rich flavour at home as I would get from a good barista. Finally I decided to purchase a Rocket Giotto espresso machine and grinder and now I'm in heaven. I no longer drink several cups of coffee a day but I enjoy the single cappuccino or espresso at breakfast much more.
I work in Newton MA and directly across the street from me is a George Howell coffee shop

.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Howell_(entrepreneur) He is a legend of sorts in the coffee industry and his beans are so good... The only downside to getting the occasional latte or such from them is that theirs always tastes better than the one I make.
