Well I did it. Pulled the trigger on the T1s! They arrived yesterday. I picked them up at AZ HiFi on the way home from work. The two boxes filled up the entire bed of my Honda Ridgeline.....they are BIG!

My home theater is about two weeks from completion but I am a guy, so that didn't stop me from popping those boxes open and setting them up in my bedroom. (Not wife approved but better to ask forgiveness.....) I put the T1s in place of my Mirage OMD-15s. Hooked them up to my Peachtree Nova 125 and Mac mini music server.

Nothing will ever be the same!

The OMDs are nice speakers with a great soundstage. But the T1s are even better. The range, dynamics and soundstage are letting me hear my old favorites in a totally new light. It is like the sun broke through the clouds and revealed a new world. I now cannot wait for the dedicated theater room to be ready! I will update this again when the T1s are installed in the theater.

mogray64,

Congrats! I know how excited and happy you must be. It wasn't long ago that I experienced the same thing. Exciting times ahead as you tune your system and continue to explore more music; old and new. Your wife will get use to the appearance. Just dazzle her with the sound of her favorite music and she'll be on board quick enough. Worked for me. :)

Please share your journey with descriptions and pictures as time permits. Happy listening!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi Mogray64,
WOW, good for you man!!!!!
I totally understand not being able to wait!!!!
The Mirage speakers are no slouches at all, but I am SURE they got thoroughly bested this time!!!!!
The Ones will image better than almost any speaker, so they should do a better job there than the Mirages, which again are not bad.
But you REALLY moved up in the audio world now, well done!!!!!
Enjoy putting it all together and happy listening,
And keep the reports coming, please,
God Bless, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

To give you guys an update...The theater is finally movie ready. Some cosmetic touches are still needed but it is fully functional. The current configuration is 7.1. I will upgrade to 7.2.4 when the new DTS:X Marantz receiver is available.

A recap of the room:
11' X 17'
106" dia AT screen
Projector is a Sony VPL-HW40ES
SCXL center
2 T1's
Surrounds are SS3
Rear surrounds are Aon 3
Integra 30.4 (soon to be replaced)

The room has 4 corner bass traps and 8 2' X 4' acoustic panels. If you have not tried using acoustic panels I highly recommend them. It makes a world of difference.

I have to say I am extremely happy with how this all came out. The sound is amazing. The bass provided by the T1's continues to blow me away. The T1's will shake the couch without any effort while the dialogue remains clear and distinct.

I really appreciate the input, direct and indirect, from the people on this board.

So far I only have one pic of the room that is worth posting. If there is interest I will try to get some better pics and post them.

Mike
