Rick,
I was reading your reply about the spacing of the front ceiling and rear ceiling speakers. So what is the spacing between your T-Reference speakers? I assume if the front ceiling spacing is different than the T-Ref your room acoustics program has adjusted the sound for optimum performance. Any issues with different spacing between the tower and ceiling speakers?

I am running 5.1 and have played with 7.1 but not gone to the 5.1.X....yet.

Hi, Del

The fronts and surrounds are 11’ apart. All channels are set for distance from PLP in the speaker set-up in the receiver. Seems to work fine.

Location of ceiling height speakers is also some determined by limitations in the attic, like location of HVAC ducts, joists, headroom to access placement options when close to side walls and sloping roof limits physical access, etc. In my case, the placement works.

The speaker directs sound at a 30 degree angle. Placement examples are on the website in the Atmos Systems section.

Rick,
Helped my son install a 12 zone, 24 channel, in home sound system for streaming music and TV sound. Amen about location depending upon equipment limitations (HVAC ducts, joists, etc). We had it laid out on a drawing and then after the plumber, electrician and HVAC installed their pieces we had 1 week to get our stuff done before insulation and drywall was installed.

Overall, he and his wife are really pleased with his sound and layout. FYI, he custom built "back boxes" for each of the 24 speakers with OSB 5/8" and did the calculation on an excel spreadsheet to get the number of cubic inches he needed. But that is another story.

Thanks for sharing. Oh, the wife just looked at me when I rattled off the BR disc that I plan to buy this week. :)
