Rick,
Helped my son install a 12 zone, 24 channel, in home sound system for streaming music and TV sound. Amen about location depending upon equipment limitations (HVAC ducts, joists, etc). We had it laid out on a drawing and then after the plumber, electrician and HVAC installed their pieces we had 1 week to get our stuff done before insulation and drywall was installed.

Overall, he and his wife are really pleased with his sound and layout. FYI, he custom built "back boxes" for each of the 24 speakers with OSB 5/8" and did the calculation on an excel spreadsheet to get the number of cubic inches he needed. But that is another story.

Thanks for sharing. Oh, the wife just looked at me when I rattled off the BR disc that I plan to buy this week. :)

Congrats to you and your son, Del!!!

WOW, Fuad!!!!

That is one first class system you are building!!!!

My number one suggestion: enjoy the heck out of that surround system when it's done, and if you haven't already got good audio or Blu-rays to play, stock up on a few. You're in for AMAZING sound!

Happy listening!

Fuad,
Rick is right, your system is excellent. Now relax, and enjoy your system it's going to provide many years of enjoyment. Please download Sandy's Set-up Tips, its under the "support drop down menu. There are lots of good tips in that document.

Also, don't be too fast in putting those spikes on the tower speakers. Install the rubber feet and when you have finalized the location, then install the spikes.

Enjoy.

Besides the 12 zone system (10 zones in the ceiling, 1 in the living room walls, and 1 outside on the patio) we run CAT6e cables from all TV locations plus a spare cable from the NW corner to the location of the IT Rack in case the cable company came in the other corner of the house instead of closer to the rack. We ran at a minimum 2 cables per TV and 3 for the 75" Ultra HDTV plus two for the receiver and Blu-ray player. Finally installed a door bell that connects to the 12 zones so when some one hits the door bell, the sound is played in all 12 zones and you can walk over and hit the LCD panel and talk to the person.

A lot of this work was done in March and April in cold damp weather. What we do for our kids. Learned a lot I didn't know. Amazing what you can find on YouTube and Internet articles.

One more question ,
For the connection between the pre processor to the amps should i use RCA or XLR cables?
In wire world , the price difference is small ,

Thank you....

Hi Fuad,
I always use XLR when I can. Many say it does not make any difference, but I believe it does. IF for no other reason than it is a good, secure connection, will not accidentally come loose. And sometimes provides a bit louder volume, is a much better connection IF you are fully balanced throughout the signal process.
Bottom line, it can't hurt, might be quieter, more solid connection, and like you said, the cost difference is minimal.
Go for it,
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
