Hey Fuad,
I have never heard the Emo xpa-7 gen 3 amp, but I just searched and read about it, looks like that is a great idea.
Should be a fantastic setup if you go that way.
As Del said, IF you can connect everything with the XLR connections, that would be a plus in secure connections and some better sound quality, possibly.
Enjoy,
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Hi again, Fuad

As Wayne so well said in his first reply, the system you were envisioning would be an awesome set-up as is, and over time you may want to consider adding, say, a stereo amp for the front T1's.

That advice is still a great place to start, IMO. What I was responding to was your later comment that your dealer was offering you a chance to upgrade the T1's to T Ref's. IF that is of interest to you, there is no substitute for doing some listening with your favorite material to evaluate for yourself. BUT, as both Del and Wayne have stated, the set-up with T1's as fronts would be awesome!!! And T2+'s for both side and rear surrounds, awesome also. Same for the HTR 7000's as heights. And SVS subs to boot.

It's easy for us all to find ways to help you spend your money :P! There's nothing wrong with evolving your system over time after you've had a chance to get it set up properly and listen and enjoy for awhile before going to any next steps you may want to take. The Marantz SR 8012 will be driving 11 channels, and it has some pretty good amps internally. If later you'd like more oomph from the fronts, say, it's easy enough to add a stereo, 3 channel, or even multi channelamp for that matter to help out the Marantz.

No matter how you get started, I really like your speaker combo! BTW the HTR 7000's do an amazing job as heights. I have mine crossed at 80 HZ and they play perfectly with the big boy towers and center.

Happy listening!

Rick

Fuad,
If after auditioning the TRefs you decide to not upgrade from TONes to the TRefs and you want to proceed with upgrading your electronics, I want to come back to something that Rick mentioned and I see he has done with his system.

If the budget allows, buy a new preamp and power amp or several power amps. If your budget won't allow this to happen all at once, go for a phase in approach.
1. Buy a good 2 channel amp to drive those TONes and use your preamp out to power the new amp....of course this assumes you have Preamp out jacks.
2. Buy a good 5 channel amp to drive the center, rears, and sides. Again, use your preamp out jacks.
3. Buy another quality amp to drive your X.X.2 or X.X.4 speakers.

My suggestion is that you stay within the same brand for all those amps.

4. Finally, after your "slush fund" is built back up, go buy a new preamp to replace that receiver which you could use for zone two or what ever.

Rick suggested using a 2 channel amp for the front towers and I totally endorse that that approach. I had a 2 channel amp and a 3 channel amp driving my system and had a used Parasound 2 channel on loan from the dealer. I took it back and instead of buying it or a new 2 channel, bought the A51 45 channel Parasound amp.

When I first set up my Denon amps I used the 3 channel to drive "L" & "C" & "R" and the 2 channel amp for the rear. Later realized that it was better theoretically to use the 2 channel amp for the "L" & "R" and the C channel to drive the LR, C, and RR. Less strain on the power supply for the head space and big dynamic scenes.

Part of the fun is helping people and Wayne, Rick and myself have provided a lot of suggestions...nothing like people to help spend your money. Good luck and let us know what you think of the Triton Reference towers.

Del

Hi, Fuad

I have 9' high ceilings. I installed the front top 7000"s 4' in front of the main listening position, and 8' apart. I took care to have the speakers rotated before tying down, to have HVFR tweeters toed in and pointed directly at my ears in that listening position.

As for the top rears, I had a pair of Invisa 525's originally installed as surrounds in an earlier system version that became the top rears in the new configuration. Those are about 2' in back of the listening position, and more like 7' apart.

For 7000's, with their angled tweeters, a wider setting is recommended. I guess if I were planning a new installation of top rear 7000's vs the 525's already there, I'd stick with the 8' apart spacing, and maybe have the top rears a tad closer in than the 4' I have for the top fronts, since our ears point forward and rear speakers need a little boost to have the same effect. (Moderator Dude, as the person who has installed and listened to so many set-ups, please comment as you see fit!). The width of the listening position seats will also affect this - wider area to cover, wider spacing on the ceiling speakers.

You're gonna' love that system you're creating!

Rick
