Hey Steveo

For the type of music I play (Jazz) the Torri delivers all the power I need...my listening room is roughly 23x13. Unless you listen at concert rock levels, the Torri should suffice. What does the Torri bring to the table? It gives one the ability to "see inside the music" which makes the listening experience more intimate. Personally, if a person played nothing but LOUD rock, I wouldn't waste my time with a tube amp. The T Cobe approach would be better in this situation...a good solid state amp and a tube preamp.

What the ZMA brings to the table are listed below...
www.decware.com/newsite/buyingguide.html
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Steveo,
You are talking about making a BIG move there, and it could be a great one for you, OR NOT.
I would recommend auditioning exactly what you want to get with your speakers and at home if possible.
Only you can say for sure what you will like and be happy with.
I am a 100% believer in having toooobes in your system. Hybrid amps or toob pre-amp with a solid state power amp is a great way to do it for a lot of us.
My experience with a toob amp and Triton 2s and 3s was not so good. But I could not get my amp far enough away from that powerful side radiating woofer on the side of the Triton Tower. And tubes do not like to have sound waves hitting them, they tend to ring.
So now I use that amp with my T 7s and it works perfectly, sounds wonderful.
Also, you want a toob amp that controls the bass well, some of the small SET amps are pretty flabby down in the bass, and if that flabbiness is sent to the Triton towers, they will amplify that flabby signal.
45 wpc is about the most you can hope for, power wise, from a tube amp without pushing it too hard, getting too weird. That is LOUD in a very efficient speaker, our GoldenEars are not really that efficient. That could be loud enough for all your listening, but for some of us, that is not really enough for Rocking out, as Bro Anthem said, or for full blown orchestra peaks I would say.
Have a listen for your self and see what you really like.
You are looking at great options, asking good questions.
Have fun with it, God Bless,
Wayne

For those of you who need a bit more power, The Decware Zen Mystery Amp would be a Show Stopper.

Yeah, it could be enough for some, but not for me.
My T 2s thrive on more power it seems.
My Vincent SP-T800 mono blocks are Pure Class A first 20 watts and 200 watts into 8 ohms (so it is really more than that).
www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/tas-18...monoblock-amplifier/

They are balanced, so I have a balanced input, and input tooooobes. Best of both worlds for me.
These make my T 2s sound BIG!!!!!!!!
I want tubes, I need toooobes!!!!!! But I went with hybrid tube amps because I cannot use tubes in a pre-amp, I need a home theater processor. And tube amps do not have enough power and control for me unless they get into push-pull, ultra-linear mode, with tons of feedback, and pushing the tubes to run too hot.
So this hybrid amps made the most sense to me and man do they sound GREAT!!!!!!!!
just something else to consider.
God Bless,
Wayne
