Ordered a pair of Aon3's today from Custom Electronics in Omaha Nebraska. Should arrive Thursday or Friday.

I have a feeling I'm gonna have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. :)

Hello Anthem,
I saw over on the thread where you list your system that you already have an impressive surround sound system.
May I ask, are the Aon 3s going to be taking the place of your surround speakers to go with your Triton 2s? Or will they be for another sound setup?
In either case, I hope you will tell us more how you are hooking things up and give us a report on how they sound.
Looks like you are serious about your audio and have wonderful equipment, it would be great to hear your experience.
Thanks and enjoy (I have been VERY impressed when I listened to the Aons--but am waiting for the Tritons myself).
Enjoy,
Wayne

Hey Wayne, glad to hear from you.

The Aon 3's will eventually take up residence as wall mounted surrounds. I'm currently using the SuperSat 3 as surrounds. The SuperSat 3's will replace Paradigm Studio adp-470v.3 (as rears).

This system will have Triton 2's as fronts L/R; SuperSat 60C for center; Aon 3 as surrounds & SuperSat 3's for rears. Two Def tech Subwoofers for added slam.

I think when the Aon 3's arrive, I'll put them in place of the Triton 2 & listen to them as a 2 channel setup. Who knows, they may stay there for quite some time. I'll let you know my thoughts, be they good or bad. :cheer:

By the way, Wayne, when are you going to be a Triton2 owner? :)

Hey Anthem,
That should be an AWESOME setup!!!!! Please let us know how you like the Aons at the front, though I am thinking taking the place of the Triton 2s, will be some VERY big shoes to fill. I really liked the sound of the Aon 3s, and they should be absolutely wonderful as surrounds, but I doubt they will replace the Triton 2s for long. But let us know.
I am technically an "owner" of both the Triton 2s and Triton 3s. Our Thailand distributor finally got some into the country and I snapped up a pair of each. Even though my house is not yet built, my home theater is still a gleam in my eye and still less than half finished. I wanted to be the first GE owner in Thailand. But the distributor who is really great to work with, indeed, he has become an email friend though we have never met yet, is keeping both pairs for me at his warehouse until I have a place to put them.
I am thinking Triton 2s as the main beasts in my home theater and the 3s as doing duty in another dedicated stereo sitting/listening area in the living room or possibly bedroom. Especially trying to get some tube loveliness in that second system, won't have to be that big a sound. BUT that could change, the 3s might be all i need in the HT up front and I may want the 2s in the secondary area as the living room is BIG and HIGH ceiling. Playing around with things and listening is definitely in order as soon as I can get this house built. Here is a pic to show we have a ways to go.
Anyway, Anthem, please tell us what you hear!!!!
Have fun!!!!
God bless the child that's got his own.

I have Triton 2 for FR/FL, CC60 FC, SS3 FW R&L and Paradigm ADP for Sr & SL. I have tried the SS3 for Surround Back R & L, but I find the sound better with wider soundstage when using them as Front wides. This is for movie watching with Audysseey DSX turned on in Marantz SR7005. Give it a try if you have A-DSX in your receiver.

Hi Sbhat3,
I am very interested in your comment. I have the Marantz AV7005 and have the ability (DSX) to run front height or front wide speakers like you are doing. But I have stayed away from that as this is not a real (discretely recorded) channel, it is synthsized, however you spell that. Can you tell us more about what it sounds like, and why you chose the wide speakers rather than the height speakers?
I am guessing you are recommending that, even over the rear surround speakers??? Why, if I may ask???? Not disagreeing here, just looking for the opinion of someone who has actual experience of how it works and sounds.
Thanks for any comments and help in this area.
Enjoy,
Wayne
