I was wondering if the Original Triton 2 is still “SUPERIOR “ to the Triton 5 in terms of midrange and crossover (Passive crossover in the original 2 and balanced in 5)

The Triton Two is a more full range speaker, capable of a higher full-range playing ceiling with less power consumption. The Triton Five midrange is likely superior due to the more advanced crossover. The Triton Two+ would be the best of both worlds.

Would you feel the same way about the 3+? I’m upgrading from 7’s and I’m trying to figure out if a 3+ would be better than an original triton 2.

That depends ... the Triton Three+ will be an improvement from the original Two in some ways, but will not equal the old Two in maximum playing volume or bass extension.

So I ended up getting the three +’s, and I love them!! I’ve read Sandy’s set up tips, and it seem’s I have 2 options for hook ups, speaker and lfe cables or just speaker cables (I’m using a single outboard forcefield 5) Is there a clear consensus?

Right now I have lfe cables going to the sub and both three +’s and it sounds really, really good, I only question because I saw Sandy’s recommendation of setting the tritons to small and crossing at 40 or 80.
