Hi, Ma1746

I don't now as there is one right answer to your question. Connecting LFE/sub on to both the T3+'s and FF5 is a good start. I wouldn't rethink that part if I were you.

You may want to try setting the T3+'s to small, sub mode still LFE, LFE leads to the 3+'s still connected, and using a crossover in the 40-80 HZ range to give a bit more of the deep bass work to the FF5 (the 3+'s would still be getting and playing LFE signals above the crossover level) . Each room is some different. If that sounds even better, go for it! Whichever works for you and your room.

Happy listening!

Hi Rick,

Thats an interesting idea! ill give that a shot. I have my l/c/r hooked up to a 275 wpc emotiva amp so im not worried about straining the mids or highs on the tritons, just obtained the best bass results. Ill try your suggestion, thank you!

Hi again, Ma1746

Let us know what you think. My inclination would be to keep the T3+'s crossovers, as Small, as low as possible to let their internal excellent crossovers "do their thing" with integrating most of the bass from the LFE feeds with the surround/front channel feeds they get. I just think they might appreciate a little help from the FF5 for the really deep bass stuff, where the FF5 can reach a little deeper.

Hopefully you can find the best of both worlds; three LFE sources to balance bass in the room, plus balanced, happy T3+'s doing their considerable part as front mains. :)

Good luck!

I’ll report back for sure. I’m thinking 40 for a crossover!

The Sandy's Tips suggestion regarding the Triton Three+ set to small is only for circumstances where the bass performance of the Three+ is not adequate for the levels/room size application. In a two channel system, the addition of a sub and a reasonable crossover on the Three+ (say 60-80 Hz) will allow for significantly more overall output level. But, DO NOT connect the LFE cable to the Tritons in this scenario, just to the outboard sub.

Also, remember that everything changes in a multichannel system where bass is being directed from other speakers. The above discussion relates solely to 2ch systems.
