Hi everyone..
I Have been using the Yamaha with Goldenear triton two for almost 1 year. Overall good setup but lack some of the clarity. I want to upgrade the av receiver and narrowed down my choices to some of the renowned brands and thus seek your suggestions in selecting one.
Plz suggest which would be the ultimate match for the Goldenear. I may not have the option to demo them. I have to buy them blindly, so plz guide me based on your experience. I also want moderator to help me out in this matter.

1- NAD 758
2- Anthem Mrx 520
3- Marantz 6010
4- Denon X3200
5- Yamaha Aventage 2060
6- Onkyo Z900
Or suggest any other Av receiver which have the good and ultimate matching with goldenear's.

Useage would be 80% Bluray Movies and 20% 2 channel Audio. Total loudness would be 60 to 70 % of the total power. Plz guys share your experience and help me out.

We've only had experience with the NAD, Anthem and Marantz, which are all recommended. General feedback we get seems to imply the Anthem and NAD are the best fidelity receivers for music playback. Hopefully some forum members with more direct experience with these will chime in to help you - but everyone tends to like what they own.

Welcome back, Umer! Good to hear from you again. This is a good and frequent question. I'll share my thoughts and experiences, but first and foremost, you should go out and listen to as many options as you can and decide which brand and model sounds best to you. In the end, that's the most important.

I've owned Anthem, Onkyo(Integra), Denon, and Yamaha. I recently did a thorough comparison between Anthem and Marantz. To cut to the chase, I chose Anthem and have not looked back. The deciding factor for me was the detail of the sound as well as the room correction software. That would be my first recommendation but I think the Marantz would be a good choice as well. From a features stand point, Anthem and Marantz seem to have the most current technology that will future proof you the longest.

The Denon and Yamaha units I have owned just don't sound as musical to me. Their sound lacks fullness to my ear. I'm confident the NAD would sound good but it lacks features and the room correction looks very basic. I have owned a few Integra AVRs, which are essentially Onkyo, and they sound great but had significant reliability issues that they were aware of and failed to correct across several models and years. I will not be a repeat customer of a company that makes those type of decisions.

Thank you for your suggestions. Are you saying about the AV receivers of the Pre Amps? Will the AV receiver of NAD 758 (110wpc) (60 wpc all channel driven) will do justice to the Triton 2 cinema including Super centre XL and Supersat 3?

Hey Brother thank you for such a comprehensive answer. Anthem Mrx 520 seems to be unfit for me as i mostly watch Bluray Movies and this anthem model is only 5.2, nowadays almost all of the blurays release in 7 ch , so would be the loss of quality. Anthem 720 would be out of my budget. I am considering NAD 758 and Onkyo Z900. Seems like Onkyo is very powerful with the quite alot headroom and have all of the latest future proof features. I agree NAD is way behind in this area.
Apart from the reliability issue, how do you see onkyo z 900 quality with triton 2? Will it be make a serious 2 ch listening experience apart from 7.1.?

I am also leaning towards marantz , but the receiver in my budget is SR 6010. It has all of the latest feautres but measures at 110wpc (2ch driven) and 60wpc in all channel driven. Will it suffice my needs and match the quality of nad and onkyo? I am considering it one time experience thats why taking alot of time to ponder so that i may enjoy my system in future with being the fear of upgrade

Do you have 2 surround and 2 rear speakers in addition to the T2s and SCXXL? If you are running a 7-channel surround, then I agree that the Anthem would not be a great solution.

Regarding wattage, I wouldn't get too wrapped up in power ratings. Manufacturers tend to fudge the numbers a bit anyway. Best to listen to the AVRs to see if they have the power your looking for I. Your movie experience. Playing a good action flick at Reference level volumes for 5-10 minutes should tell you all you need to know. I'd recommend Mission Impossible Rogue Nation.

I don't have much experience with NAD, but I'm sure it would sound great for music. If you have any room acoustics that are a significant issue, I think this would not be a great choice. Also, if you want to be able to support the latest sound and picture formats, it may not be a great choice. It is already obsolete in my opinion.

My Integra AVRs sounded great! I was extremely happy with both surround sound and music. They had my Triton Ones purring like a kitten. The picture was not the best quality and I started having HDMI switching issues with both of my units. This was a frequent issue for their AVRs and a lot of consumers got burned. Again, I won't support this type of business.

We have some Marantz owners here that will likely be able to give you a better testimonial than I can. Maybe Rick will chime in later. I believe he has the 7010. I think a good audition of Marantz and Yamaha should yield you a solution that fits the bill. My guess is that the Marantz would fare better for music. That would likely be the route I would go in your situation.
