GIK is the route I will go as well. I read that bass traps aren't as important with multiple subs. What have you found? Did you talk directly to GIK?

Cheers,

I haven't talked to GIK yet though I understand the owner is super cool and will chat you up about acoustics without a hard sell at all.

You can smooth out response with multiple subs but you can't fix long decay in the bass without absorbing some of it in my opinion. Bass traps aren't just to smooth out frequency response, though they will help there. Also of course, they absorb more than just bass so if you have an overly live room they'll help there too.

I have a pretty decent ring in my room right now if just clap. Definitely harming system clarity regardless of what speaker I have.

Thanks, that makes sense. My room is pretty dampened. My biggest issue is side wall reflections that are messing with stereo music. If I'm not sitting dead center, imaging is way off. I plan to use several of the 242 Acoustic Panels. One behind each T1, one behind my center channel, and two on each side wall. I'll get the 24" by 48" models. I may implement two of the Tri-Trap Corner Bass Traps in my front corners as well by my T1s.

I've read that GIK provides a free consult if you provide them the room info. For less than $200, you can purchase three of 24" by 48" 242 panels. That's a pretty sweet deal! Please keep us posted if you pull up he trigger. A few room treatments and your room should be locked and loaded!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Do a search or I'll see if I can find it when I'm not on my phone. I've heard treating the area behind your speakers isn't the best.

Found it.

Excellent suggestions, particularly the metal bolts w/socket as opposed to wood screws.Actually, a resistor-based, switched Sub Volume switch would also be great. In fact, all of your rec's would be beneficial. Wouldn't it be great to have a "Signature", or "Reference" desigtnation for the model One with these (and or perhaps other upgrades/improvements) !
