Hey there . I hope you all are enjoying the awesome goldenear setup. Guys again i need ur suggestions. I am really in love with my triton 2 cinema system. I am driving it with my yamaha amplifier with LFE in . I am facing the problem in setting the appropiate LFE for my system. I have the dial of the speakers at 10 O clock. Everything seems here is perfect except bass. I want more bass while watching movie. My room dimension is 22 ft x 18ft . Now the problem is whenever i move the dial more than 10 , it starts to affect my mids and highs and the whole setup sound little muddy. I like the bass at 11 but at that point the sparkling highs and mids got affected.

I am wondering what would be the problem. My friend who is using JMLAb eutopia listened to my system amd suggested me to keep the dial at 10 as it gives the clear mids and highs at this level. Anything above that would start stealing the show from tritons. And he suggest me to use separate subwoofer for bass as according to him , the in speaker bass that is affecting the mids of the speaker as may be the cabinet dont support anymore bass to work perfectly. I have to take away the bass from tritons for the best performance. If that would be the case then why would goldenear suggest to use the in speaker subwoofers for LFE rather than the separate subs ?? Little worried

Before adding an outboard subwoofer, just turn up the receiver's LFE output. If configured properly (Large L/R. Sub yes, LFE cables run to the speakers), you should be able to dial up the movie LFE bass without any other effect by just going into the level calibration menu and turning up the subwoofer channel (which in this configuration will be producing ONLY the movie effects bass).

If that doesn't get you what you want, and you're sure everything else is setup properly, than adding an outboard sub as an augment for low frequencies would be the suggested approach. Set a maximum of an 80 Hz crossover for the sub to keep bass from thickening the midrange. Whether yous still run large L/R mains will depend on, among other things, where the subwoofer is located.

Thank you giving suggestions. So i hope this is normal with goldenear. As for records, yes i have set my fronts to large, with LFE in. I really felt that i can really get the very handsome amount of bass from built in subs but after this issue i am seeking the option of separate sub. Does this issue persist with Triton one and Triton 2+ also?

One more thing i noticed. Whenever i set my surround speakers and centre to small, the more muddy my fronts become as all of their bass go to the fronts. I get more separation and clear dialogues by setting the centre and surround speakers to Large. And only LFE signals are directed to the front through LFE cable. May be i can also resolve this issue by bringing the separate sub in my system by pulling off the bass from the tritons. Need suggestions on this also..

I have already tried of turning the subwoofer level from the receiver but still got the same problem. Mids and highs got kind of muddy.

Normal? Absolutely not. A quick review of the posts in this forum will show you most all Triton Two and One users do not have additional subwoofers, there is no "issue". The Triton Two+ has the same low frequency section as the Two. The One is bigger. Seek the help of your local dealer to sort out your system's/room's issues.
