A little late out of the gate up here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada...........GoldenEar T is no household word up here and what's more the established "Big Boy Brands" had to work hard to get an audience over decades. How do I know you ask ? I've owned Maggies, Vandersteens, B&W's, Snell, Apogee, and a host of others too many to mention.......circumstance dictated my encounter with GET Triton 7's while visiting in-laws in Seattle. My son in law (who I will never believe is good enough for my daughter) had a pair of T 7's attached to a Rotel amp & pre amp .....one morning I was regulated to babysitting my grandchildren for the day with access to this system ....you well know what happened, I was pissed as hell ! The Triton 7's looked to me like the kind of stuff you buy at Walmart's Home Theatre department and sounded like they should be covered in exotic wood and cost $15,000.00.....for the entire visit I kept returning and listening trying to understand how these speakers at this cost could display so many of the quality's I would gladly spend buckets more for. Yes I bought a pair. I can't help but think as an aging audiophart that this product setting benchmarks in the price to performance category that has not been tapped ....the design philosophy is not important to me, the performance on the other hand is brilliant....

Hey Edmonton Dude, welcome here and thanks for posting. I can relate to the old farts comments. And the son-in-law comment.
And as a former Maggie and Apogee owner of MANY years, you may well be like me--I hate box colorations in my music; and the GoldenEars just somehow manage to avoid them altogether and yet they are dynamic in ways the panel speakers were lacking.
We have just open, natural, organic sound throughout the full range.
Please stay with us and let us know more of your opinions as you get to play with the T 7s more. They are awesome speakers.

Thanks for sharing your initial thoughts on the GET T7s. I guess you can say, at least on two counts, that your Son in law has good taste!

I must protest!!!! I REALLY don't like that word, I don't think it should be used in a friendly atmosphere like we have here on this forum.
Can we please QUIT using that nasty word OLD!!!!!

haa..you get it ! I had planned to buy speakers before I heard the T7's and was thinking about Harbeth Compact 7's .....I even auditioned them twice ....suffice to say the GET T7's buried the Harbeth's bass wise and cost ....after over 35 years of chasing the audio dragon I can't think of a "new product" that so profoundly changed the game as these GoldenEar speakers can you ?
