Sandean311,
I think most of us here on the forum and many industry professionals agree with you. I think value is at the very core of GETs mission and vision and they continuously hit the mark. It's certainly the reason I chose to go with their products over the competition.
While in the market, I conducted a significant amount of research and listening. I ultimately had it narrowed down to two options. Let's call the competition a "prestigious" Canadian speaker. In my listening test, the competitors speaker had more bass energy and an open and airy tweeter (to the point of being fatiguing). With the dynamic highs and lows, the mid section sounded way more laid back than I was accustomed to hearing from this brand. It made their speaker sound more like a B&W offering.
I compared this "prestigious" speaker to the Triton 7 that was less than half the price and to my ears, I preferred the T7. Quite a statement at half the price. The GETs were balanced, lively, and involving. Of course, opinions are subjective and I'm sure others may not agree but I came to this conclusion as a satisfied and previously loyal customer of the Canadian speaker company. I still respect the other brand but in terms of sound and value, they cannot compete.
I agree with your visual impression of the GETs. Their appearance does not inspire confidence as compared to such offerings as the Dali Epicon 8, but beauty is skin deep and these speakers have it where it matters: sound. The Triton Ones were hands down the best speaker in terms of performance and value that I auditioned. Note that I did not audition the Dali Epicons, but I listened to some other Diamonds that could not compare!
I look forward to your additional feedback once you have your T7s hooked up in your home. Please share the details on the rest of your setup as well. Thank you.
Cheers,
T Cobe
