Obviously I watch a LOT more movies than the rest of the usual contributors do. I started to say the normal contributors, but then I remembered that there is probably nothing normal about those of us who post here often. Sorry Bro Anthem and Santhosh. You may take exception if you wish. (But I read your posts)

Watched "Deep Blue Sea" tonight. Yes, Sure, watched it before a coupla times, but the scene where Sam L. Jackson gives his speech where we will all pull together and stop fighting and get through this thing, is a CLASSIC!!!!!

Ohhhh, Ohhhhh, yeah, speaking of Bro Samuel L. Jackson movies (there are not many of them, ha ha) a MUST SEE:
BLACK SNAKE MOAN
Get it, watch it, it is great! It is based on the blues. It is SAD to have to present GOODNESS this way in a world gone bad.
It may not be a blu-ray but don't miss this movie.
Put the children to bed first.
God Bless,
Wayne

The wife and I went to see Gravity in 3D at the Warren IMAX Theater in Wichita, Kansas. The picture and sound quality was mind blowing. I've experienced good 3D through the years, but man oh man, this was in a league of its own. WORLD CLASS!!

$13.00 a ticket but worth every penny.

TWO THUMBS UP!!
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Thanks Bro Anthem for this,
I did not know this movie is 3D, I will definitely look for it in 3D Blu-ray. If it was awesome in the theater, it will be better at home. The passive 3D glasses in the theater are too dark, usually. I don't know about IMAX, they might use active ones like we do at home. Not sure.
But I definitely want to see this in 3D.
Thanks for the heads up,
Blessings,
Wayne

Hey Bro Wayne:

A few interesting tidbits about Bill Warren's IMAX in Wichita, KS.

$7.2-$10 million project
It's one of the biggest screens in the world : 6 stories tall and about 100 feet wide.
It has a IMAX Silver Screen, one continuous piece of fabric/cost $90.000.

Curtain cost $118.000.00

600 faux leather seats

2 digital projectors equipped with 6,000-watt bulbs running simultaneously to light up the screen.

It takes 60,000 watts of power to run the soundsystem.

Speakers 700 lbs. each

IMAX for your home runs 1 million-2 million.

If you ever get a chance to go...GO...it will blow your mind.

Bro Anthem,
Sounds bigger than my home theater. Not as expensive as mine, but bigger.
Ha
REALLY sounds AWESOME, I would love to see a movie there!!!!
Did you give them any suggestions on how they could make their surround sound better????

Blessings, Wayne

Last evening we watched two blu-rays.
"After Earth" is a good lesson on how FEAR paralyses people and keeps them from even a normal life, let alone from an exceptional life. FEAR IS A CHOICE!!!!!
The first time I saw it, at the theater, I was not impressed with parents who put their kids in movies, Will and Jada Smith and Lenny Kravitz!!!!! But this time around, the kid was a little bit better actor than I thought at first. I am a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan, except for Airbender and Lady in the Water and the Village.

Then I watched (the fam was not interested) Hyde Park on the Hudson, a story about FDR and his love life, place in history. I love Bill Murray, and he was good in this. IF this movie is accurate, then FDR could hang with JFK and Bill Clinton in the womanizing dept. IMPRESSED!!!!!
But as far as historical movies about past Presidents, I still think "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" was far more revealing of previously unreported historical information. And more exciting too.
Blessings,
Wayne
