OK, kids,
I may be the only one that watches movies here, let alone blu-rays. And, IF they were all as bad as the one we watched tonight, I probably would quit.
We watched "The HOST" a 2013 junk film. It LOOKED good. I mean the previews looked good, the picture quality was good. Sound, I don't know, nothing stood out. We were too busy trying to get interested in it. Kinda a futuristic P. O. S. that was horrible.
I just looked up what Rotten Tomatoes rated it, 8%.
That about says it all.
Not really bad enough to become a cult classic, I don't think.
Save your time and money.
God Bless,
Wayne

This is a fantastic concert with the late, great Freedie Mercury at his prime. This was originally filmed in 35mm, so the video is stunning. The audio is DTS 5.1 HD High Resolution 96/24. Any fan of rock, this is a must have!

I haven't been watching to many movies lately, 2 channel music and Thelma Lou have been taking up my time.
Thelma Lou has Home Theater Pass Thru so this morning I finally got it hooked up.

Stores weren't open at 7am so rented from Red box..$1.62

Iron Man 3 (blu-ray)
7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio...great sound & picture (wouldn't mind having this one in my library)
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

I was never a big Talking Heads fan until I saw this video at a friends house. I ordered a copy that day. I was amazed how many hits they had. I remembered many of them. The concert starts off a little unusual, but I think very cool. It starts with the lead singer walking on an empty stage alone with a guitar and a boom box. He does the first song solo. You hear most of the first song through the center channel. The surround speakers play some reverb from him, but mostly sounds from the audience. As the concert continues, every song they add another band member and more stage props. The stage (both the visual and the sound stage) becomes more full as they progress through each song. By the time you are about a third of the way through the concert the additions are complete and there is a full compliment of musicians and backup singers on stage . The disk also has two surround sound tracks. One is the concert sound track (you are front and center in the concert hall). The other is a studio mix (you are in a studio listening to the concert). I prefer the concert mix. Although, it is fun to switch back and forth on the fly. There is also a 2 channel mix.
My GE system handles the concert with ease and great finesse. Every time they add a new musician to the stage you can hear that musician emanating from his /her position on the stage.

Yes, this is an all-time favorite, thanks for sharing MOBrien! I have it on DVD, haven't watched in a while, didn't realize it was available on Blu-Ray now. On my list now!

Getting a little behind here, sorry.
Just watched the Expatriate, may be called Erased in the U. S. Only DTS 5.1, but good sound so far as I can say. The booms when BOOM!!!!
Watched Trance and sound wise, I was a little more impressed, it is DTS 7.1, but then I got into the movie and forgot about the sound. This always happens on a good movie--or at least one where I have to try to figure out what is going on.
It has been soooooo cold here, but Rosario Dawson heated the place up.
OK, other than Ms R D, it was not that good a movie.

God Bless,
Wayne
