After seeing Anthem's great post with April Wine over in the Music I Enjoy topic I just have to post a piece from another Canadian band. This one is by the Guess Who on their most recent album "The Future IS What It Used to Be". We saw this lineup last summer and they absolutely rocked the place. The only way to actually see them playing was to stand and dance with everyone else!

The only original member in the band is Garry Peterson but one of the current guitarists who is also the front man and lead singer, Derek Sharp (aka D#) has now been with the band longer than Burton Cummings was!

Anyway, I read that for this album they wanted to write songs and create arrangements that had a rocking '70s feel but with modern music. Here's the leadoff tune, "When We Were Young". It deserves to be played kinda loud.

Funny thing. The first time I heard this song I wasn't overly impressed. Upon the second listen, it is now my Favorite tune on the cd. If you have 19 minutes, crank "er" up, and let me know what you think.

Something a little bit different. I've owned this one for many years...go figure. I still like the Thump!

I do love acoustic guitar, and Rodrigo y Gabriella sure can play! Good stuff!

Now, if only someone could find an unbroken banjo somewhere outside of Kansas to add to the mix......

What I really love about acoustic guitar on GEt's is the way they just seem to deliver the whole listening experience to me, soundboard and pick sounds rolled right in.
