Avenue Blue (featuring Jeff Golub) Naked City - Mama Didn't Raise No Fool

Couldn't find an actual video of Jeff doing this song. Still Excellent, regardless!

Jeff Golub and Avenue Blue did a great cover of Ronnie Laws' Always There on their "Nightlife" album. Here's the Ronnie Laws original:

From one of the keyboard greats, Brian Auger. This is a tune from his recent Piano Trio album and shows off great technical prowess as well as passion as he plays. That's his son Karma drumming.

If you like this, try his Trinity and Oblivion Express music, too, if you like funkier jazz/rock explorations. Definitely What, Befour, Second Wind, Closer to It, Straight Ahead, Live Oblivion and many of his other records, too.

After listening to some of this, here's a trivia question... how do the Trinity and the Monkees tie together?

Julie Driscoll and Brian Auger and their band The Trinity were musical guests on a television special called "33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkey" starring the Monkees.

Indeed! Thanks, Anthem.

As I recall, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Buddy Miles and the Clara Ward Singers also had roles in this odd 1969 TV special.

If you have about an hour you'll never get back, here you go...
