While we're rummaging around in the "oldies" bins,

Ben E. King cut a number of albums, including "Ben E. King" with hits like Stand By Me, Spanish Harlem, Up on the Roof. Toured with the post Clyde McPhatter Drifters for a bit, recording hits like This Magic Moment.

I've always liked Ben E. King's version of Spanish Harlem. Thanks!

And while on the Soul kick, since Huey & Alex were singing like blue-eyed Soulsters on Streets of London, here is "Mind, Body & Soul" by Flaming Ember. Released on Hot Wax, a label started by Holland/Dozier/Holland after they left Motown. Flaming Ember was a great blue-eyed-soul group whose other hits included Westbound #9 and I'm Not My Brother's Keeper.

Sorry I missed posting this on Fat Tuesday. If you like New Orleans funk and soul, you'll like the Wild Tchoupitoulas. Just in case, that's pronounced chop-i-too-lus. Here's their take on the classic Brother John.

Good stuff, Moderator Dude!

Even Amazon Music had trouble finding Flaming Ember songs or albums, but not the Wild Tchoupitoulas! This album is available in hi res even, along with 5 others in 16 bit CD.

Keep em' coming, please!

Rick

And long before Auto-Tune helped ruin a lot of music, here's a little Psychedelic vocal-pop by British band the Marmalade. Great singers! One of my faves of their songs, enjoy "I See the Rain". If you look them up you'll find a great catalog of tunes, including some very nice covers.
