Absolutely luscious sound this morning.
Today we are using an Adcom GFP-565 Preamp (24 years old - with an attached powercord) with the Decware Torii MKlV & Oppo 105.
What's nice about this preamp is it has a high filter switch that helps to reduce unwanted ultrasonic noise, as well as to correct excessive high-frequency energy in the top octave. It's very subtle and seems to work quite nicely.

Anthem: I'll definitely let you know how it sounds once it gets here. Music Direct has some great music and gear but they are SLOW!

My wife, who is recovering rapidly and about to "graduate" to a cane for inside walking, from a walker (the PT's say her history of dancing has left her with strong legs that are helping her recovery), listened to the SONY headphones and AudioQuest Dragonfly Red today for the first time (Sungha Jung songs) and declared that the headphones provided the absolute best SQ she has heard yet here in NH.

I then asked her how she would compare that to what she hears in TX when we play the GEt's (always in surround, whether 2.0 in multi channel or true surround). Her answer, "they're different, but the TX sound is better". I so agree. Already thinking about what I want to play when we get back. Beethoven symphonies are near the top of the list

I'm glad to hear your better half is recovering quickly and regaining her mobility! The Wife and I here were just talking about the days getting shorter. Fall is just around the corner! Do you have a travel date yet for your return to Texas?

As of now, we have plane tickets to go back to TX on 9/16, with a doctor's appointment on 9/14 to see how she is doing. Unless the doc says she's not ready to travel then, we'll be back in TX on 9/16.

Yes, the days are getting shorter here in NH also. Still very pleasant, but cooler days are coming! We'll be closing up things over the next several weeks.

SO looking forward to firing up the GEt's again!!!!

We enjoy traveling as well but I have to say that after about 10 days, I'm usually ready to be home. I've had a few trips recently and it's always great to be home! I'm sure it's a little different when you have 2 homes.
