Cloudy Saturday morning...listening to Jeff Lorber/He Had a Hat (2007) -- Super Fusion Unit.

I continue to be amazed. The Anti-Cable (PC) has cleaned up the bass on this track. Track 3 (Grandma's Hands) with Eric Benet on vocals, came through splendidly.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Here is a hit and miss report, as sometimes happens when you buy new music you have never heard before.
MISS:
Yo Yo Ma has a new CD out, with Kathryn Stott, "Songs from the Arc of Life". Just released and he has even been on talk shows touting it (or in support of it).
It has 20 pieces on it and they just do not do anything for me. One is the lullaby song, sorry, just don't need an expensive recording of anybody doing that song. YMMV, just was hoping for a LOT more.
HIT:
The Auyrn Quartet recorded in Hi Res True Surround sound, in this case 4 channels each full range with one piece of the string quartet taking a channel, you are in the middle of the quartet enjoying this most awesome recording of "French String Quartets" by Ravel, Debussey and Faure. It is a TACET recording and extremely well done. It is DVD-Audio so the Oppo is needed to play it.
My T 2s and T 3s are equal enough so that I am in the middle of a seamless or at least 4 point surround. Here is where having full range surrounds REALLY SHINE!!!!!!
I am gonna guess this is not everybody's kind of music. And IF I had to guess, I would have guessed that I would really like the Yo Yo Ma/Stott, but that this French music would just be suitable for background music during a nice dinner.
WHOA, it is the other way around. I am surprised at how good this Auyrn Quartet music is.
Still I know it is not for everybody. Soon I hope to report on a couple of blu rays that SHOULD BE for just about everybody.
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne

Yo Yo MA Songs from the Arc of Life / Kathryn Stott - sounds perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Auryn Quartet French strings - sounds perfect for a Saturday afternoon.

Contemporary/Be-bop sounds perfect for the rest of the week.

Look forward to more of your reviews.

Listening to something new. Charlie Parker/Newly Discovered Sides of the Immortal -- East of the Sun.

Listening to Flim and the BB's/Neon (1987) -- Dancing with Donna.

Hate to keep harping on this, but with the Anti-Cable this cd has really opened up....sounds wonderful.
