Thanks, Brad. I'm a big Emotiva fan. I love my amps and the XSP-1 pre-amp for stereo but their Processors seem to have a lot of bugs... Between that and the lack of Atmos, I decided against the XMC-1. Hopefully a firmware issue will correct the bass gurgle later. They seem pretty proactive about resolving technical issues.

Me too (big Emo fan, as evidenced by how much of their stuff I own). I'm actually pretty happy with the XMC-1. Not perfect in some of the peripheral stuff, but really really excellent in the sonic department. Before the price jump, I think it was a great value. No so sure at its current price point, but I'm very glad I have it.

The Venom Digital does a beautiful job with these complex passages. Music heard through the VD is so much more satisfying.
