Something new. Went shopping at CD Trading Post in Wichita today. Listening to Branford Marsalis/Renaissance (1987) -- Lament..

T Cobe: Moanin' is like so many of The Rudy Van Gelder Editions...distortion here and there, especially on the sax. Why does it always have to affect the sax? It's a great set ot tunes, and if picked up cheap enough, can be a fine addition to your library. I paid $4 - $6.

A Sonic Treat...Marsalis's rendition of a Sonny Rollins tune (originally by Randy Weston ) made famous on Saxophone Colossus.

Uncovered a few hidden gems yesterday at "Hastings Music"... Branford Marsalis /Bloomington (1993) -- Xavier's Liar.

Sonically great, but has some distortions here and there...can be played loud and still sounds very good.
