Brad,

Did you get that bass gurgle worked out?

Cheers,

No. Emotiva's latest email calls this a 'perplexing problem'. Not a biggie, I've swapped my T2's with my T7s in my office (now using T7's as surrounds), and put the Paradigm sub back in the living room. The office sounds awesome (it did with the t7s, actually), the LR sounds awesome, and only my bedroom suffers by losing the paradigm sub.

At the moment I'm only running a single XLR balanced connection to the Paradigm sub. No LFE on the T1's. But I have the XMC-1 set to extended bass for the T1's, so they'll get LFE content since they're set to LARGE. I'm only losing having subs in the surround positions, but its still quite good, actually excellent. The Paradigm sub is a great sub and reaches plenty low enough to enable my neighbors to call the police should I get a little overly 'enthusiastic'. Visually I liked not have the extra sub box in the LR, but its offset by the shorter T7s as surrounds. It doesn't look quite as much like Stonehenge this way :-)

Well Bradorner,
Writing from Stonehenge here, did the bass gurgle go away when you altered your system like that?
I am guessing so, but wondering.
I am sure it still sounds great.
Happy Listening and hoping you get it all worked out great.
God Bless,
Wayne

Brad, I got a hyper-lapse tutorial, is that you? It was very impressive and interesting. I did not get the moon shot which I would love to see, it was not available over in this part of the world.

yes, Wayne, the gurgle is gone with this setup. It only occurred with both LFE's connected. If just one LFE was connected, no gurgle. (I tried individually on each of the T1 and T2).

BTW, the 'daisy chaining' you referred to earlier was slightly incorrect. The Y connector is just a passive wire connection. Parallel - meaning both LFEs are connected to the channel. The T2's weren't 'fed' by the T1s. The LFE connection was just split, that's all. I did swap Y connectors too, as that was a potential source of a loose connection (all the other cables got swapped out as well). I also made sure to really have tight insertions on all plugs. I even tried the old 'jiggle the wire' test on every connection to see if I could force the sound. No luck. The gurgle had a mind of its own.
