Hey, Hey, Hey...Another Bright & Beautiful Sunday Afternoon -- Listening to: Spyro Gyra/Point of View (1989) -- Counterpoint.

Received Mingus Ah Um by Charles Mingus on Friday. This is my second classic jazz album on the Columbia label and both have had recording issues. The issues are fewer and more far between than the Miles Davis album I previously purchased but they are there. While Boogie Stop Shuffle sounds great, Good Bye Pork Pie Hat is full of distortion. I'm starting to wonder if I should be buying imports or waiting to purchase these albums on vinyl once I get a turntable. Despite the quality of the reproduction, there are a number of clean tracks and this is a great album!
