Hey, Anthem

I'll get more interested when/if I go to UHD TV....

In the meantime, I wonder, on the audio side, how the 32 bit ESS SABRE 9018 REFERENCE DAC's in the 105 stack up against the new 32 bit ESS 9038 PRO HYPERSTREAM DAC's in the 205... or whether the reclocking for HDMI out is also an improvement... :huh:

That's still lower on my upgrade horizon than upgrading my SONOS for streaming, upgrading to a 5 or 7 channel amp, listening to the Triton References....

Nobody said this is a cheap hobby. :laugh:

I'll definitely be interested but I'm in no rush. Until the projector market catches up a bit with UHD and the prices come down, I'm in no rush. I have already started purchasing the UHD discs in preparation. Thankfully they all include a standard blu-ray at this point. I'll be curious to hear the feedback on the audio for this device. I don't own anything with Sabre DACs and have read mixed reviews.

I'm confident Oppo will have another success on their hands here. I'm glad to see the price was similar to the 105. Rumors were indicating it was going to be significantly more expensive. Thanks for alerting us to the final posting, Anthem. I've been cruising their site for a while waiting for this info.

Oppo UDP-205

I'm all in. What's holding me back?

1) I'm tired of black electronics. I want a silver faceplate. The main body can be black, but the faceplate needs to be silver.

2) I'm fearful of 1st production runs. I've had negative experiences in the past and don't want to repeat them.

3) Reviews make the world go round.

So, at this stage, I'm with T Cobe and Rick, I think I'll wait awhile before I pull the trigger. GDHAL...best of luck to you. Can't wait for your thoughts and review.
