I have talked to the regional tech, who has been very helpful, and it is indeed quite easy to replace the defective modules. We were unable to come up with ANY operation or environmental reasons contributing to these failing, so just a probability thing, like you say, 10's of thousands out there. It does sound like a replacement kit is both LL and HL assemblies. These are NOT covered by warranty after 3 years, so I'll be interested in hearing the cost.

Please excuse me if there is '"nothing useful or informative about your post" - seemed like the right place to start, and now I think I can just deal with the tech. You can remove my login if you like; no worries.

No worries, that was a helpful post :)

If you are the original purchaser the service parts will be covered under warranty. If not, we have a very reasonable exchange program price.

Hi
I got the same problem now. 4 years back my right tower under went with the similar issue and Goldenear replaced. This time, its left tower one. I am using a surge protector as well. Not sure what the real problem is.
My warranty on the towers just expired . I contacted the dealer and he says there will be a charge of about 200$ to get the amp plate replaced. Any suggestions? Is it worth paying 200$ and get it fixed or do a trade in,

Hi AnilK, I'd say it's worth investing $200 into a pair of Triton 2 towers. The Triton 2s still sound quite natural and would cost a good amount to replace. If it's easier, you could work directly with GoldenEar Technology. You could contact GoldenEar's tech support department at This email address is being protected from spambots. Have things changed since the Audioquest buyout? A relatively short time ago it was stated (warranty wise) that "If you are the Original owner, you are covered...regardless of age of speaker." Are the Plate amps in the T Refs the same as what's used in the T2's and other GE powered speakers? This is the last thing in the world I want to worry about.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!
