I love this forum, you guys crack me up
This character asked an Emotiva engineer about this power cord stuff. The response was and this is not a direct quote, EMO's amps power supplies have this filtering built in and these cords will not make a difference on their amps. They ship power cables with sufficient gauge to handle the current draw of the power supply. I think I read earlier in the thread that this was the finding by one of you guy's.
The fact all of you agree that the players and receivers sound much better with the anti-cables tells me these devices power supplies do not handle this interference. With that said it will be hit or miss weather the cables will help. The only way to know is to hook'em up and listen. It's good Anti-Cable allows a 30 day return policy. You have nothing to loose by giving them a try.
Wayne, I will report back as soon as I get a couple of them and Hook'em up:) The grill Vs. audio equipment purchase is a tough one
I have an Oppo 103 so I would expect to hear an improvement if these guys have noisy output. The DSP's are different between the 103 and 105 so that could make a difference?
It's always fun to try new gear!!!
Enjoy!

Hook em UP D. T.
I can't wait to hear your opinion.
I have the Oppo 95, but it should be roughly similar.
Like you, I will use power conditioning, electricity is too unreliable here to trust electronics that cost a LOT to the whims of what might come through the lines.
I don't have the T 2s plugged into the conditioner, but into the walls, as per GEt recommendation.
Hang in there folks, D. T. is gonna give us the LAST word, ha ha.
PRESSURE Buddy!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey Rick
Come the first of the year, ya think Wayne & Splash will be buying stock in the AntiCable Co.? If I was a betting man, I'd say yes.
As T Cobe has stated...the improvements the Anti-Cable Reference 3 powercord offers can even be heard while sitting on the Throne.

Anthem,
I can't wait to hear how those signal cables sound. That will be the true test in my mind. With power cables, I wonder how much the benefit relies on the power to the gear. I installed dedicated runs to each Triton One and two for my electronics. Each run is on its own 20 amp breaker. My background is deep, dark, and silent.
Based on what I've read on-line and from you and Rick, I'm game for trying a cable out on my Oppo to start with and will play with it from there. I definitely want better looking cables going to my T1s. I only need 3' cables and the stock cables are a bit messy as long as they are. I'm hoping to get a little more feedback on what power cables sound best, if there is any difference, on the T1s. From Rick's previous descriptions, it sounds like the Venoms make a difference on the T2s but not so much on the Ones.
On another note, I recently read an article comparing aluminum foil to a low end Monster speaker wire in a shoot out. The subjective results were that they sounded the same... Then, pics were posted of the audio signal and it was stated they were the same. Now, I have used an O-Scope in a long time, but I could see there were differences in the waveforms. These differences didn't look insignificant to me but they assured readers they were. So, back to the previous question if these results can be measured: I'd say they can but they may not be interpreted accurately.
While I'll never spend $20,000 on a set of speaker wires and I find the notion ridiculous, I find it equally silly to use aluminum foil. there are a few recommendations out there on percentage of system cost that should go towards cables and for me, 10% seems reasonable. At that price point, you can get attractive cables that are both high quality and neutral. If I'm going to shell out $20,000 to improve my audio system, it would be on a better source and amps, not a pair of speaker wires (not that anyone here is suggesting that).
Anyways, thank you for your feedback and suggestions on what I consider very reasonably priced solutions. I look forward to experimenting more myself. I will certainly start with 30 day risk free trials of the Venoms and Anti-Cables. Happy listening!
Cheers,
T Cobe

Hi, T Cobe
I would say you have a very grounded, sensible plan for trying power cords, interconnects out. And you're right, if they work well in your system, you can keep them, and if not, it's a risk free trial.
Happy listening!

So T. Cobe,
Will you be trying a 30 day risk free trial too?????
I will be very interested to hear your results too!!!!!!
Such a risk free trial is not so cost free over here. Even though the guy at Anti Cables graciously offered to let me have a full 30 days, meaning, I guess, that he understands by the time I get them the 30 days are probably up, and by the time I listen to them and IF I should decide to return them it will be more like a 60 day trial. Sounded like he was good with that, and I TOTALLY appreciate a company putting their money where their mouth is and offering a risk free, money back trial!!!!!
But I would have to pay shipping BOTH ways and customs duty one way, so I would be out more than $100 anyway.
That is why I am being super cautious and waiting until I hear more guys' opinions.
I KNOW a hundred dollars does not sound like much, but I have a mother and father, a wife, 4 sisters, 3 daughters, 3 grand daughters, and a son in law, and out of the 15 of us, my Dad and I are the only ones who know that money does NOT grow on trees!!!!!!
Even IF it did, trees lose all their leaves at Christmas time!!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne
