Hi There,

I auditioned the SS3 speakers and almost bought them.
Really liked them for the price.
But then I found out about the SuperCinema sound bar, and read glowing reviews from the trade shows.

When will the sound bar be in stores (I go to Century Stereo in San Jose, CA)?

Also, how will the SuperCinema sound bar compare to 3 of the SS3 speakers for LCR applications?
BTW, I have a 12" sub woofer in the back corner of the room (and thats the only place the SO will allow it).

I noticed the lowest frequency is 20hz lower on the sound bar compared to the SS3's, but the size & number of drivers is the same???

The 3D Array soundbar will be in dealers' showrooms by late October. The 3D Array is the perfect solution if you cannot separate the L/R Front speakers an appropriate distance, as it incorporates interaural crosstalk cancellation technology to tell your brain the L/R Front speakers are actually spread far apart. If you can separate the front L/R speakers, the 3D Array and the SuperSat 3/3C are virtually identical in sonic performance.

Regarding low frequency specification on the 3D Array, it has a larger cabinet volume than three SuperSat 3's, so slightly more extension. We still recommend a 120Hz crossover with the 3D Array, which MAY pose a problem for your rear placement sub. Lower crossover point will work but limit total system output capability.

Great, that is very helpful!

I can get maximum 7' of separation on the SS3's.
Do you consider that enough separation, or the sound bar is going to perform as good or better?

I kind of assumed "good separation" means 10' or 15'?

Also, my wife likes the look of the sound bar better!

LOL - my wife likes it better too!

It depends on your seating/listening distance - generally if you can't get the speakers (close to) as far apart as the distance to the listening area, the 3D Array would be a better choice. So, unless you sit maybe 7-8 feet from the speakers in your situation, the 3D Array would be preferred.

Ok, that is very helpful.
We sit about 12-14 feet away from the TV, so the sound bar will definitely be the best choice.
Now that its decided, I just need to wait patiently until the end of October....

Any ideas to mitigate the problem of the subwoofer in the back corner?

Higher crossover point - try 100Hz and watch the volume level as you listen for any signs of stress from the 3D Array.
