if there is an onboard amp, it seems odd that there would not be a built in adjustable high pass crossover knob or gain knob as per the picture on page 1 of this forum.

is there a fixed high pass crossover built infor the 6" driver? or radiators?

you could say that we could use the pre amp processors crossover, but what if its paired with a sub for full range duty not using LFE? you wouldnt want to use the pre amp to implement the crossover. or if two are used during a BBQ on the patio and a pre amp processor isnt used.

please forward to the designers unless I'm missing something.

These up-coming GoldenEar active speakers feature a digital (DSP) crossover.

The active speakers that feature what you mention above are typically those active speakers that feature analogue crossover.

Now that I re-read my original question, I highly doubt it.

Analogue inputs with DSP by-pass mode would require the speakers then have an analogue crossover inside. Or (as you say) analogue inputs for each driver.

I doubt at this price (and size...) they would include BOTH digital and analogue crossover.

The all analogue Elec Navis B51 (Andrew Jones) actives are getting some great reviews. Some people comparing with the KEF LS50W say the Elac's are better.

Of course the all analogue design means the owner is free to use DAC of their choice. I think that was a cool idea because the DAC/digital side is changing so quickly.

The DA 3 has a menu-driven high-pass for selecting either model of SuperSub (which includes low-pass on the sub output), or for a generic sub and choice of high-pass frequency from the menu choices.
