OK, I'm guilty..... I just had to hear the new SupersubXXL, and Audio Systems in Austin had already told me they had one in their theater room. (I was there to talk about potential speakers for a second pair of ATMOS height speakers, and yes, I still favor HTR 7000's).

SO, after reviewing height speaker options.., and while I was there, I met Mike Lang from Goldenear, who was just happened to be there to talk to them (my good luck), and we had a great conversation about GEt products, ATMOS and GEt speaker options that work well for that application...thanks, Mike! You were VERY HELPFUL! I just love going there, so helpful, including technical issues that arise, and having someone there from GEt was a big happenstance bonus. Well, I just HAD to hear the SSXXL. So, after Mike was off to his next destination, off we went to the theater room, which was set up with T3+'s as fronts, SCXL as center, Supersat's as surrounds, NAD Master series pre/pro and amp ,and a new SSXXL as the sub... as always, the GEt sound field was superb. Can the SSXXL play with and blend with other GEt speakers? Oh, yes! Can it reach deep? Oh, yes! I FELT it's presence, it had the lights flickering at one point!, but it also kept blending in perfectly with the other speakers.

I'm back to what I have said on previous posts: if I add a sub to my amazingly perfectly integrated system, it just has to be a GEt sub (and yes, I still love the T1/T2 four position sub combo). Could the SSXXL fit in with my system? Oh, yes! Can that SSXXL deliver pure, gorgeous, deep, perfectly integrated, musical bass? OH, YES!!! I'm VERY impressed!

Money no object, I would have carried a SSXXL home with me, it's that good. I'm still looking at my upgrade path, and still I think a second pair of ATMOS height speakers is next on my list. Would I love a SSXXL in my Christmas stocking? YOU BETCHHA!!
