Just installed a HT in the basement and I have a Yamaha Adventage 2080 Receiver with 4 x 50 and 1 x 50C with the XL subwoofer. I have the crossover set at 80hz but the sub seems to be a little heavy....what is your suggestion for the crossover setting please.

Thanks

Gary

Hi

Re crossovers, the SS50’s should be in the 100-120 HZ range, the 525’s will happily play at 80 HZ.

Re the sub sounding a bit heavy, you can dial back the sub gain setting In the receiver to taste. If you haven’t yet, try various sub gains to see if that helps.

Happy listening!

Set the SS50 and C to 100 Hz - 120 Hz. The Invisa 525 should be about 80 Hz - 100 Hz.

Experiment using the sub's crossover point as well as its gain. If you have an AVR or pre/pro with room correction, try that to see what you think, then adjust by ear if you think it needs tweaking.
