Hi,

Thinking of getting a pair of SuperSat 50s and a SuperSat 50c and wall mounting them around my TV.

I have read the manual:
www.goldenear.com/images/manuals/SuperSat_Manual_WS.pdf

Unfortunately the manual is a bit skimpy on the details for wall mounting. This is all it says:

Wall and Stand Mounting
Your speakers have keyhole slots and a threaded insert to facilitate mounting on a wall. If you are wall mounting
speakers, take extra care in installation and the use of safety straps as a secondary restraint is recommended.
We suggest wall mounting installation be performed by a qualifi ed contractor or your authorized GoldenEar
dealer.

And then it says, in the "Tools Required" section:
"Appropriate Wall Mounting Hardware with #10 pan head screw to fit the mounting keyhole
on the back of the speaker"

Question:

What kind of "Wall mounting hardware" do I need?

My walls are drywall with 1/2-inch plywood behind it (needed for shear strengthening in our San Francisco home... for eathquake safety) with studs as usual.

Thanks

Hi all,

Does anybody know the answer?

Is there anything else (other than the speakers) that I need to buy in order to get the speakers mounted on the wall?

Thanks!

Hi Joyjit,
Sorry, not a clue, but I hope you get an answer soon from the Moderator Dude or someone who knows.
Hate to see someone hanging out to dry.
God Bless,

Hi. This depends on the wall type and the intended mounting. Your selling dealer can certainly help you figure out what is required for your installation. You can also call our office for support to discuss and get some specific advice. Pretty simple stuff too, no reason for concern. And if you aren't comfortable with hanging things, have your dealer do it for you.

I have a licensed electrician who will do this work.
He has done wall mounts of other speakers, but not worked on Golden Ear speakers.

Would you be able to share documentation on what is needed?

As stated earlier, my walls are drywall backed by 1/2-inch thick plywood (needed as per earthquake safety code in San Francisco... to increase shear strength) with studs as usual.

So what kind of mounting hardware, if any, do I need to purchase apart from the speakers?

Thanks

I guess I have to assume you are mounting them flush too the wall. Use a screw or screw and anchor as needed for your wall type and the speakers'weight. The head of the screw must fit in the keyhole slot on the back of the speaker, the manual specifies the size. Use the supplied template for hole locations. This is no more complicated than hanging a picture on the wall. We do not specify hardware.
