Hi all
I was wondering if anyone had any insight to how much improvement a XXL centre will get over a 60c centre.

I have heard the moderator say a few times the 60c gives almost identical performance to the xl but I assume the XXL will be a big step up? Would it be worth upgrading from a 60c or is the 60C good enough?

I am interested in the XXL because I already have a pair of triton 1s and I heard the xxl match better and were in a way made for the t1s.

Any insight from new owners of the xxl and anyone with advise in general it would be great to hear from you.

If your local dealer has received the SuperCenter XXL and has one on display, you should go hear it to see if it's a better match for your needs. It does have much greater bass extension than the SuperSat 60, so you can cross the XXL over much lower than the SuperSat 60 and still get better dynamic range. The XXL is much larger than the 60 so make sure it fits, too!

Hi Steveo, I recently upgraded from an XL to an XXL. I too have T1's and can tell you in my setup the XXL is a superior product. I have not listened to a C60 in my setup so take this with a grain of salt. My impression after 2 weeks of listening is the XXL is in the product class of the T1's. As you know from listening the T1's are in a class of their own. The combination of the T1's and an XXL are perfectly matched IMHO. It seems to me the XXL was designed to be a superior center channel and with the internals that are the same as the T1's they naturally fit VERY well together. My sound stage has increased in size and depth. Dialog is clearer and the bass is stronger. In fact all center channel sounds have more punch and clarity. The C60 is a good center channel, it was designed to make the best use of space and provide good sound. The XXL is pure sound!!! I have stated it is like having a T1 without subs. As the moderator said, make sure you have room before you pick one up. The binding posts are off center, they are 12.5 inches to center from the front right edge(left from the back) See pic below.
I had to get a longer cable to reach mine.

In summary; My recommendation to everyone with T1's and SS system is "if you can afford the cost and space GO GET ONE:)"

Hope this helps.

DT

P.S. I am driving my XXL with an Emotiva XPA-1L.

Moderator,

I think, and hope, you are downplaying the differences here... If not, than GET is over charging for the SCXXL. ;)

Based on previous products by GET, I expect a significant performance increase for 50% price difference. GET has always priced there products appropriately, IMHO. Across the product lines, a price increase has led to what I perceive as an increase in performance based on my listening sessions and preferences. Have no doubt that the SCXXL will follow suit. Of course, if one already has the SS60C, it's not really a 50% price increase to buy a brand new SSXXL unless their dealer is willing to offer 100% trade in value...

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi T Cobe,

In an absolute sense, yes, the new SuperCenter XXL far outperforms the SuperSat 60C when matched up with Tritons or even Aons. It is a much more full-range speaker with far better dynamic range and wonderful clarity.

However, not everyone will have the space for the SuperCenter XXL. If you don't, or simply prefer the look of the 60C in your system, when crossed over at 100 - 120 Hz, it's a great solution.

But, oh yeah, if the SC XXL works for you, it's pretty amazing!

Thanks Moderator & Splash51 for some really informative post's, your responses have tipped the scale for me towards the SC XXL. I, like Steveo, have the 60C but have always felt it could be better in certain areas. Hopefully this will be the Center Channel of my dreams...clarity and depth of soundstage.

Every great performance deserves an Audience!
