Well Thanks so very much for the kind words Rick and T. Cobe!!!!!!
That is a Christmas present already and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet!!!!!
I really appreciate the good words, seriously, thanks!!!!
Thanks Rick to say it is a SUBTLE difference. In that case I can relax, I don't have a subtle bone in my body. ha ha
I am an old roughneck and my favorite tool on the oil rigs was the SLEDGE HAMMER!!!!!
Small and fiddley, subtlety, is for someone else.
Yes, guys, I am seriously blessed already and will stay with the system I have and be THANKFUL for it!!!!!!!
You guys are a great asset to this forum too, keep up the good work!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Random question....

I've got an open shelf that is directly below where my TV sits on top of. 6.5" H x 45" W x 13" D... I'm considering putting a SC XL or XXL inside of it to appease the woman.

Thoughts from you more experienced guys on if putting it inside a shelf would distort the sound?

Hi Word.......
And welcome to the forum!!!!!
Sorry I did not really understand the question. This shelf, will the center channel speaker just be sitting on top of the shelf? Is there something that would be ABOVE the SC XL or XXL?
If not, or IF there is plenty of clearance, it should sound GREAT!!!!!
I have a SC X that has to sit in an opening in a whole unit, but it does have like 2 inches clearance above it and it sounds incredible to me!!!!! Best center channel I ever had, and I have enjoyed some decent ones.
I hope this helps,
let us know more and perhaps we can give you a better answer.
Have fun with it, happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

The shelf is enclosed all all but the front side. The actual top of the TV stand is the top section of the enclosed shelf where I want to put the SCXXL inside of. It only is 6.5" high so I'm concerned with the limited distance above or if "encasing" the SCXXL inside a shelf would be a poor choice.

Thanks Word.....
for the speedy answer. I understand now. That is the situation I have, but I have more clearance above. Looks like you will only have 3/4 inch as all the SCs are 5 3/4 inches tall. Sorry, but IF you could get another inch or two I think you would be MUCH better off. That top radiator will struggle for room, IMHO.
The Moderator Dude may say differently, but that is my take on things.
Any other way to do it?
