...........
Once turning on the NAD again, not there. Plainherentfrom any source, including streaming and NAS files then the 'rush' noise is there.
Pause music - rush noise is there

I can hear this from my listening position about 2.3m away, and so is quite annoying during quiet passages or delicate instrumentals - and as said, it's more pronounced in the left.........

Probably not the case although theoretically could be, all music sources have a noise floor of their own inherent within the recording itself. So to do amplifiers in that when no music is being played, there is still electrical AC on the line connected to your speaker. So even if/when you pause the music, that electrical AC noise is still present. The GE speakers are rather likely "resolving" enough to make this carrier noise (my term) audible.

Here is something else to try. When the music is paused and you hear the noise that you're hearing, listen with the volume all the way down, then briefly listen at the 12 o'clock position and then briefly listen at maximum volume position. When at maximum position, the noise should be louder than when the volume control is all the way down, however, it should only be marginally louder. That would be normal amplifier operation. If the noise is significantly increased, that would be abnormal amplifier operation. Either way that would indicate the source of the noise is the amp. Also, the noise from the amp carrier signal usually is discernable from the tweeter, not the woofer.

So no, this is for sure happening where I can hear it clearly from the sitting position. I can post a recording, but it is from the tweeter, not the subwoofer.

Follow up though, I bought some shortening plugs, but I've been using the LFE inputs since I've had the Triton 1s. Do most people NOT use them? I can also use the shortening plugs on all open inputs on the pre, correct?

I would think a Furman IT-Reference 15i would improve sound, but is it really uncovering other issues? Amps aren't plugged into the Furman (although I've tried both), just components.

Correct. Use of a shorting plug on any unused **input** can only help; never hurt. Static or "sizzling" noise coming from the tweeter is likely caused by the amp. Even when no music is present and the amp is on, there is A/C on the line connected to the speaker terminals. You could confirm that by not playing music, having the amp on, and then gradually raising the volume from its lowest point to the maximum point. The static or "sizzling" noise should increase in perceived volume/intensity, however, the increase should be very slight. If the increase is "dramatic", something is wrong with the amp.

Yeah - the static noise is actually pretty consistent, and increasing the volume (with no music playing) does not change static noise at all. Will go through the checklist of everything suggested and report back.
