I have a pair of Triton 2 speakers for my listening room and I absolutely love them. These were the first "listening room" speakers I ever bought and they've given me many years of enjoyment.

A couple of days ago, I was listening to some music and noticed there was no bass coming from the left speaker. At first I thought that the power cord had come unplugged but, when I checked, I saw the green power light was on. I started fiddling with the subwoofer level knob and started hearing the bass cut in and out. It was kind of like how analog volume knobs start cutting in and out on older stereos.

It feels like there may be some oxidation or something built up, but I wanted to check with folks on this forum before I started messing with it. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and, if so, how did you go about fixing it?

I haven't experienced the issue with the T2 that you are having, but I have had similar issues with other devices with dial controls where the process being controlled gets unreliable or stops working altogether, like some home irrigation controllers. I have found that turning the dial slowly all the way from min. to max. multiple times will sometimes clean the contacts enough to restore functionality.

Don't know if that is the issue with your T2, but it may be worth a try. I'll bet others who have had the same issue could offer more insight.

Hi trtech, Turning the volume knob slowly back and forth several times is certainly worth a try. If this doesn't help, I'd recommend contacting GoldenEar directly for service options. (This amplifier is certainly serviceable.)

rjohn79395 - Thanks for the tip on the volume knob. I gave it a few hearty turns back and forth but, unfortunately, the issue still persisted.

I'll likely contact Golden Ear and see what the service options are, as the moderator suggested.
